Welcome to shuggiepie. By using our website and purchasing our products, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Florida-Only Shipping & Sales

As a cottage food operation under Florida Statute 500.80, shuggiepie is legally restricted to selling and shipping products exclusively within the state of Florida.

  • Any orders placed with a shipping address outside of Florida will be cancelled and refunded immediately.

  • By placing an order, you represent and warrant that you are a resident of Florida or are purchasing the product for delivery to a Florida address.

2. Custom Orders & Lead Time

We take pride in the handcrafted nature of our baked goods.

  • Lead Time: All custom orders require a minimum of one (1) week’s notice prior to the requested delivery or shipment date.

  • Orders placed with less than one week’s notice may be subject to cancellation or a "rush fee" at our discretion.

3. Pricing and "Operations Charges"

Pricing for our products is listed on individual product pages. At checkout, additional charges may be applied by our hosting platform (Squarespace):

  • Shipping Fees: Shipping is calculated automatically based on the weight of your order.

  • Operations Charges: Pursuant to Florida Statute 509.214, any mandatory fees added at checkout (such as delivery fees or credit card processing surcharges) are classified as "Operations Charges." These are used to cover the direct costs of fulfilling your order and processing secure payments. You will see these itemized before completing your purchase.

4. Shipping & Delivery

  • We ship via USPS or UPS within Florida. Once a package is handed to the carrier, shuggiepie is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier or incorrect addresses provided by the customer.

  • Because our products are perishable, please ensure someone is available to receive the package upon delivery.

5. Returns and Damaged Goods

Due to the perishable nature of food products, all sales are final. We do not accept returns.

  • Damaged Goods: If your order arrives significantly damaged (e.g., crushed boxes or compromised packaging), please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with a photo of the damage.

  • Damage claims are handled on a case-by-case basis. Resolution may include a partial store credit or replacement, at the sole discretion of shuggiepie.

6. Cottage Food Disclaimer & Allergens

All products are produced in a private residence that is not subject to Florida’s food safety regulations.

  • Allergen Warning: Our kitchen handles common allergens including wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, and nuts (walnuts). While we take care to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee a 100% nut-free environment.

7. Limitation of Liability

shuggiepie’s liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the total amount paid for that order. By purchasing, you agree that shuggiepie is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Florida.
